Dozens Killed, Hundreds Injured as Gunman Unloads on Las Vegas Concertgoers
The death toll is still rising this morning following a horrific mass shooting at a country music concert on the Las Vegas strip.
Authorities updated the press at 6:30 a.m. (eastern) saying that at least 50 people were confirmed dead and more than 200 injured. The shooter has been identified as Stephen Paddock, who was himself killed by a police SWAT team. Reports say Paddock – who was being called ‘a local man’ – opened fire from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Country music star Jason Aldean was performing as the stream of gunshots poured into the crowd at about 10:00 p.m. Las Vegas time.
With the death toll reaching 50, this incident is said the be the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
